a small group of Christians with a heart for young people stepped out in faith and planned an all day event at Kualoa Ranch. Our vision was simple: To plan an event that would unite young believers on Oahu who are on fire for Jesus Christ, so that united they would gain strength to lead their peers to passionately pursue a relationship with God and each other! Those plans evolved into the Summer Bash, a day that included a praise and worship service followed by a “talk story” session; a variety of activities provided by Kualoa Ranch; lunch and supper; and a bonfire and nighttime scavenger hunt out in the forests of Kualoa. Approximately 200 young people between the ages of 14-25 attended. It was so successful that we were asked to do it again in 2005. The 1st Annual Summer Youth Worship Bash was held at Kualoa Ranch on Sept 3, 2005! More than 1500 young people and families from 140 local churches came together to share music, food, and fellowship! The vision to unite churches by uniting their young people was realized and WAVE Hawaii was born! In January 2006 WAVE Hawaii became a non-profit organization completely committed to young people! Our mission “young people passionately pursuing a relationship with God” is the driving force behind every worship event, concert, and youth activity we plan! We are also committed to providing the Christian community with information on youth activities and events open to all young people.
