In 2005, @ the first Summer Youth Worship BASH, the new generation ministry WAVE Hawaii and the music ministry MILELE were brought together to reach out to the young people of Hawai'i. Since then their partnership has grown to include a project that connects the young people of Africa with the young people of Hawai'i through a ministry known as the Milele Family Homes Project.

The Milele Family Homes Project is Milele's largest and most exciting undertaking! It entails the provision of cost-efficient, quality housing for children who have been orphaned by AIDS. It is the vision of Milele to set up two to three homes per year for 2 parents who have adopted 3 to 6 children who have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic in Africa. This vision includes providing these children with an opportunity to grow in a family setting away from the institutionalized set-up of a traditional orphanage. The adopting couple will have a means to sustain and maintain their household, while the children receive the love and attention that all children deserve. Ultimately the children will grow up and replicate this work, becoming productive and capable members of their society, consequently creating positive change for their community and country.

The partnership between Milele and Wave Hawaii encourages and engages the young people of Hawaii in this exciting but serious ministry! The young people of Hawai'i will participate in building the homes, learn more about becoming advocates for social issues across the world, participate in learning about the African culture and how people in Kenya live, and above all share the message of Jesus Christ in a hands-on and powerful way! It will change their lives forever!
